The Anping Haishan Hostel (安平海山館), located on Xiaozhong Street (效忠街), Anping District (安平區), is a city designated historic site. During the Qing dynasty the hostel housed Qing soldiers to defend Anping, under Japanese rule it was resold as private housing, and later it was reclaimed by the government for use as a heritage site. The original building is well preserved, allowing a glimpse into early building styles of Anping District. The building features many sword lion carvings, the most impressive being the pushup sword lion over the gateway, as well as Anping's distinctive sword divider.
